Water Trap?????

Hey,

I rarely post, but now have a question.

Has anyone noticed water in the trunk of their 300C SRT8?

I washed my 2007 this morning and opened the trunk (rarely go in there). Lifted the cover and the styrofoam "well" and holder of the fix-a-flat "spare tire" was floating. Pulled it out and had about 6 inches of water in what would normally be the spare tire well - water was up about 1" over the bottom of the battery.
This can't be normal! Used a hose to siphon and now trying to get it dry.

Sorry to hear about the water! The only time I remember reading about water in the lower trunk area was due to an improperly installed air bag system but I don't know if you have one or not.

Big hard rain here last weekend - 3". Thats probably what did it, not the carwash. Back to the dealer it goes. To think what could happen??????
Short and burn everything up during rush hour on the freeway.

Did you find the cause?

I found 3 gallons of water in my trunk. Plan to bring back to dealer but I would like to point them in a direction.

Nobody has been able to find this leak. Can't leave it with dealer for a few days right now, but will let them have the car for 2 weeks in June. If they find yours, let me know!

I've never gotten water in the trunk but, when I wash the car I do get water in the door sills, the sill around the trunk and the inside edges of the hood. I always have to make sure that I get in there and dry up all those areas. Seems to me that I shouldn't have to do that but it gets in and I have to make sure to dry those ares up,but I don't have the issue that you have with the trunk. Hopefully you will find the problem before something bigger comes from it.
