1957 300 Grill Upside Down?

Well, this may seem a little strange to some folks, but here goes. I was at a Tim Horton's (coffee shop where dopey Canadians go) and a guy comes up to me and asked if I knew anything about the history of the 300 grill as he's pointing at mine. I didn't know what he was talking about and he told me it's the same as the 1957 only upside down. I told him thanks and went about my business.

Any historians out there? I really don't care, but I'm wondering if there's any truth to it.

Car and Driver TV mentioned it and then used video manipulation to flip the old groll and show how similar they are, but I don't think it's official.

Yep, I saw that too this past weekend on 'Car and Driver Television' on SPIKE TV. I think the grills certainly do look similar, but not exactly the same.

Somebody needs new corrective lenses!
NOT EVEN CLOSE!
The '57 is flat, canted forward at the top, and has a trapazoidal shape.
Our 300's are symmetrical, convexed, and plumb.
But there is the basic egg crate look.

Linda, there's something wrong with either my computer or yours. All I see for your avatar is a naked woman. Are you sure you uploaded the right picture.

Rambit

I used to have an old 57 Dodge Mayfair (called something else in the US). Now that I look at your avatar, the headlights are pretty much the same. It was a push button automatic with a 313 cid. The American version had the 318.
