Does anyone know how to upgrade the software package on the Evic(jklein..moved)

Does anyone know how to upgrade the software package on the Evic, I was at the dealer and noticed the 07 evic can show 0-60 and 1/4 mile miles. Can I upgrade my 06 to that?

The 07s can show 0-60, not 1/4. That wasn't added until 08. And no you can't get them on your 06 without replacing the cluster.

Thanks for your help. Kinda bummed but oh well, that would have been fun to play with. Also do you know how to find out how many 300c srt8's were produced in 06. Where would you find that kinda info.

The only numbers available are for the 2005's. Unfortunately it's highly doubtful the 06 and onward stats will ever be known. Seems like we're full of good news for you today, sorry.

Is the firmware hard-coded into the cluster?

I ask because I could understand if the EVIC can't be updated if there were different versions of the EVIC hardware that were only compatible with certain revisions of the firmware. But surely there's more than one version of the firmware that would work with a particular revision of the EVIC hardware, right?

Send a message via Yahoo to Hemi Addict
I'd like to know as well, there has to be some simpler way to get all the goodies in there without totally replacing the entire cluster.

My dealer tried flashing my '06 to get the extra screens and functions without any success. It is a hardware limitation.

Andrew, they didn't give me details of what issues they encountered from memory. I believe they spent over an hour trying different things to get it loaded and while I don't know the finer details I understand in do upgrades they have to go to a Chrysler maintenance web site to download the required update each time, and these updates are not cataloged as you and I would expect them to be, ie. they are listed with codes and it takes a little research to match what you need with the file you need, if you get my drift?

I can only assume it was a case of your example #2, but I am unsure.

Is there any value in the Forum approaching Chrysler and see if this could become an upgrade option. Based on what I have read there is much interest across the 300C community!
