Disable 'Panic' button?

Is there any way for me to disable the 'Panic' button on my remote? In a few months of ownership, I have managed to set it off 3 times while sitting at my desk at work, and the other day while I was grabbing my keys getting ready to leave for work.

Is this something a dealer can do? (I'm assuming there's no way for me to turn it off since there is nothing in the EVIC)

i would love for it to drop the windows down ... once the car is unlocked
that would be sweet
walk up and hit unlock ... hit panic .. doors unlock .. windows drop ...
that would be damn sweet
or if my car was bagged ... then you know...

Thanks. I kinda figured it probably can't be done, but I thought I might as well ask.

If this keeps happening on a regular basis for me, I guess my options are

a) crazy glue the button to the housing

b) unsolder the button from the circuit board

c) glue a piece of plastic over the button

It happened to me as it was in my front pocket, and I bent down...

Maybe some smart guy or gal will chime in here at some point over the coming weeks with your solution....

In Australia we do not get the "panic" feature on our keys. Rumour has it that the circuit and switch is in there but the cover is molded with a hard cover over the internals.

Thanks. That's interesting to know.

I wonder if the dealers can get an 'Australian' key here. I'll have to check into that.

It could be possible. Maybe you could buy just the cover.

We get gouged so bad on the cost of parts it would not be economical to buy it here and ship it to you fortunately.
