Help, With in car issue...

Okay for the past little while, whenever i put the vents on anything except straight to head, i get a weired car smell like engine grease or something.... its not too strong just noticeable.

my 300 doesn't come with the cabin air filter system, so does this mean i need it since it didn't smell like this when purchased...

or is there some other filter that needs changing....

Are you saying that when you have the vents straight ahead you don't smell the odor? But if you aim them any other way you do? The cabin air filter doesn't really take away any odors AFAIK so the fact that you don't have a filter shouldn't be the difference.
