Post 30,000 Mile Tune-Up

I am coming up on my 30,000 mile mark and I came up with a list of things to do:

Oil + Oil Filter (switching to 0w-20 Synth.)
Change Trans Fluid
Spark Plugs (going to use E3)
Rotate Tires
Replace Cabin Air Filter
Poss. due the fuel system cleaner

Is there anything I am missing? I bought the car used when it had 28,000 miles on it so I am not to sure what was used or changed before. Thanks!

Nah, coolant flush is not needed.

Don't go with the E3 plugs, stick to the copper champions.

Ya I think I might do that on the spark plugs. The more I read and think about it, buying those E3's might be a waist.

From the Owners Manual the tranny fluid doesn't need changing until 60,000.

From the service manual for 30K.
Change engine oil and engine oil filter, if not replaced at 3 months.
Replace the air cleaner filter.
Replace the spark plugs. 5.7L Engine.
Check and replace, if necessary, the PCV valve
Rotate the tires.

About 3 months ago I had the 30,000 mile treatment and did add the fuel injectors cleaning. Probably not necessary but it can't hurt.

use regular spark plugs

I want you to know I work in the car buisness so my advice is researched. The Hemi engine is very old technology so I would not put anything but the regular spark plugs that the car came with( you can't even put platium plugs in it). These engines are very sensitive so don't mess with it. And the Spark plugs are quite easy to change if you lift the engine cover. Because they will charge you alot for labor to change all 16 spark plugs half of the total charge is just for that. The coolant is dexcool it is an oil based coolant so dont mess with until the car is 5 yrs old or has 150k on it. Also the cabin air filter is located under the hood it takes 15 mins to chane it and they will try to tell you it hard to get to it. But if you open the hood on the left side you will see a cover pull it off and wala there is the cabin air filter

Thre is no issues with plat plugs , they last longer due to electrodes coated with platinum. Gap does not wear away or open up. Coolant is NOT DEXCOOL. IT is Zerex G-5 HOAT.

It is the same thing. They both are based on Organic Acid Technology and you can use Dexcool compatible coolants in the same engine.

I have and the bottle says dexcool compatible and compatible with the Chrysler Spec as well.

We have been down this before you and I .If you go to Zerex web site (Valvoline)it states ZEREX G.-5 is not to be mixed with Dexcool. Dexcool is OAT based and G-5 is Hoat based (hybred) It contains differant addditives than Oat Dexcool. THe main ingrediant might be the same but after that it is differant .Being compatable is not the same as the correct replacment. Compatable only for the main ingrediant not the additives.YOu say dexcool is compatable, My jug and the web site of Zerex says not to mix with dexcool .Thats who i believe.

Well I have a nice bottle of Prestone Orange Dexcool Coolant right here in my hand that says right on the bottle that it is compatible with the Chrysler HOAT technology with no problems.

You don't go strictly by their site seeing they want you to only buy their product.

Same product with minor difference and none of the small difference makes them incompatible so let's stop spreading misinformation.
