2008 C 'Fuel Economy Screen'

Prior to the CCN update, my easter egg functions included a digital speedo, but it always displayed "0". Now the speedo it works. Still have the 0-60 timer. One feature deleted was the ability to change the MDS active icon that displayed in all screens when the MDS was engaged. I used to be able to pick from a leaf, V4, MDS and a few other icons. With the new update "MDS" shows when active, and there is no longer a choice.
I had the reflash done a while ago, too, to correct the ACC problem. I just noticed the other day that in the 'Fuel Economy' screen in the EVIC Easter egg, the title of this screen now shows "FUEL MISER OFF". While everything does seem to function - I get the now-limited MDS icon when it's in MDS mode and the fuel usage graph seems to operate - it is somewhat disconcerting to see the screen indicate the fuel miser is "OFF". I wonder if 'OFF" is an abbreciation for somthing? Could someone else who has a 2008 C with the latest update for the ACC check their screen and let me know if yours indicates the same title?

Thanks!

Jon

Yep, just had the ACC problem corrected and my screen shows FUEL MISER OFF with the sideways triangle (or play button) on the left. At first I hoped this was some way to press that play button on the steering wheel to control whether MDS was ON or OFF but no affect. I too wonder what FUEL MISER OFF means.

Thanks for the confirmation - now I don't feel quite so 'unique'. Maybe someone will chime in with more info on why the display reads as it does now.

New Function - Top Speed Display

I found a new function (at least to me) today. This would be for at least all 2008 300C with this software revision (this would be the revision you get after the ACC 'blinded' fix:
evic-easter-egg-instructions-screens-meanings-img_0055.jpg
When you are in the now-active digital speedometer, if you press and hold the 'sideways' triangle for about five seconds, you will get the 'Top Speed' display. If you press the sideways triangle again, it resets the current high speed; if you press and hold the sideways triangle for about five seconds again, it turns the display off.

Hope y'all enjoy (and sorry if this has been reported before).

Sorry if i am ressurecting an old thread but does anyone know why my mpg reading in the normal EVIC is different to the one in the Easter egg EVIC?
Maybe the easter egg one is since the car was new and the normal one is just since the last reset?

For those interested, I got into my EVIC screens a couple of days ago and took some pics to show what you get on a UK 2006 CRD:

Welcome to the forums! As to your question, the answer is 'no'. But, much of the information is good stuff to know. Check it out and let us know what your think.
