Vehicle Mfg. Date

Is there any way when car shopping that you can tell the date of mfg. from the sticker? Anything in the vin or von #?

While I know that you can get the info off the label inside the door, I'm curious if it is on the sticker in some sort of code.

AFAIK the answer is No. The only info in the VIN is MY and certain options IIRC.

Lightbulb There is an answer to your question......

Jeepgrady,

Hello, This is Brian Carotenuto. The answer to your question lies on the vehicle certification sticker on the driver's side door. The information is located down on the bottom left hand side of the sticker. The month and year of manufacture are located on the top right hand side of the sticker (Mine says 11/04) and the code at the bottom is the month, day and time the car rolled off the certification line at the plant (MDH:112212-My car's date and time certification)

Look for the letters MDH on the bottom right hand side. Also, your paint and trim codes are located on this sticker as well (PNT-Paint code) (TRM-Trim code)

Hope this information helps.

Sincerely yours,

Brian T. Carotenuto
