I was at work the other day and I found myself asking a colleague a question....


...This was a question I knew was common knowledge, yet I knew the easiest route for an answer, at least at that time, was to ask.

he gave me the response of "RTFM" which I'm very familiar with.

I smacked myself on the forehead and proceeded to end our conversation to go pick up said "FM"

I got my answer with little to no trouble. It took way less time than probably asking the question.


We laugh at each other at work when this topic pops up.

I guess I will have to agree with you. I have hundreds of students in the classroom who do the same thing...always looking for the easy answer instead of thinking and figuring it out for themselves. I would probably be fired for saying 'go RTFT', though.
