I look forward to 18 on the highway. I get 11 mpg whether I am in town, cruising on the freeway or pulling a trailer up hill. The new 5.7 should get a little better gas mileage, but like you said, not much.

I'm going to be the last standing Deep Lava Red.

If they do the new 2011 in Deep Lava then I might think about it, that car is going to be awsome.

The BEST part of reading this thread was seeing several of the earlier members/owners posting replies, including 2 with DLR 300s!

I'm looking to get a 2008 SRT-8 in Sept or Oct because of the massive deals going on right now but I might wait and see what the 09 300C has to offer.

Not sure what I'll do.... looking to build a street legal drag car sometime after that... we'll see.

Scarbs, you could always paint the new car DLR.

BD Hemi, just fyi if you like options right now the new Pontiac G8 GT does not come with satellite radio, a NAV, bluetooth capability, or a spare tire. I checked one out and you can't get these things - if that makes a difference to you (did to me, don't want a bunch of aftermarket gadgets and I use all these things). Not sure if they are fixing any of this stuff. Went to their forum and no one was really sure except for maybe satellite radio in 09.

Bruno, as I read your post I was thinking the exact same thing - nice to see some oldies still lurking here. I guess loan and leases are over now (or near over) from 4 years ago and people are getting the itch again. That said we all still like our Cs. It was fun that first year (though I had alot of trouble with mine the first year until they finally got the engine SW correct). Thats when I decided to never buy a first gen brand new model that first few months they hit the street again.

I don't know yet about the 09s, I still like my 06 C so well I doubt I will ever trade. Unless, I get a SRT. My wife wants my 06 really bad.

Looked at a used SRT8, but decided not to. Very interested in the next gen or whatever 300C. I read alot about cars and basically have seen no info on what and when. Assume it will get the new V8 of 370 HP that the challanger and Charger will get but do not hear much. I like the V8 power and speed but do not need a super car. Also the cylinder deactivation makes me feel better on the gas situation. When I was at the NY Auto show in 3/08 I asked the folks there how come most have their next gen cars there but the 300 was status quo. They said you'll see something at next years show.

Bob
What about the GXP version...thats on a par with the SRT8?

The GXP I hear is performance wise on par. Just that these cars are made in Australia and for some reason they don't have some things we crave up here. I am not by any means all knowing on this, just know Bluetooth, Sat radio, a real NAV, and spare tire are not avl. For NAV you get that On Star thing where you call in and get direction - no pretty screen and all the trimmings. For a spare you get a little compresser and a can of that crap - kinda ruins the tire to me and of course no good for a real blow out, which I have had. Heard for 2009s and GXP sat radio may be avl.
