summer + 300 = road trip time!

so it was my roomates 21st b-day so me and a few of our friends decided to take alittle road trip in the 300C. we headed to Girdwood, alaska for fun.

we hit up a icecream shop first, before heading to the big hotel at the ski resort. we played around there for awhile before taking the tram to the top of the moutain. i had not done that since i was alittle kid so it was awsome...except im kinda scared of heights!

we then headed back to town for dinner, the roomate had a drink for the first time leagly lol...then we went go-carting...that was interesting!

thought i'd share some picstures tho with my 300 family!

infront of the icecream shop, got some looks too

up by the moutain, same place i took pics this winter

looks like a sweet trip.. What are the roads like up there. I alway thought there would be a lot of rock chips in the paint with all the truck traffic

roads are pretty good better then some i've seen downsouth, they have to repave in town very often due to the extreme(sp) temp change and use of studded snow tires in winter. also theres usealy alot of pot holes due to freeze/thaw cycles(sp). the rock chips come from winter when they sand the roads. summer you dont get many if hardly any. not alot of truck traffic really..

paint chips are such a big deal...but you go thru a windsheild a year usealy.

i put a new windsheild in my explorer a year ago..it now has 32 chips and 7 cracks haha and i've been to lazy to get it replaced again..plus its spendy(liablity only so i pay full bore)

it was a fun trip, today it was raining so yesterday was def the day to go! i'm hoping next weekend is nice also for our next trip.

haha, akawd, I have to admit, I think i'm lucky I have yet to screw up my windshield. One day I was driving across the old "soon to be remodeled' benecia bridge and this car in front of me kicked up a rock the size of a golf ball, it bounced up on the hood, and slide past the A pillar. Whew!

yeah, it sucks! luckly because grandma doesnt drive nearly as much as me we've kept her windsheild ok...its got a few chips but they were filled and it saved the window.

they have this new diamond sheild stuff thats supposed to save you from ever buying a windsheild again. in the vid on there site they shoot it with a bb-gun an throw rocks at it and it never chips cracks or breaks. it adds $200 to the window price but if you dont have to buy one every year it pays off within a few years.
