Delayed Acceleration in 300c

When I put my car in reverse and then back into drive and vise versa then I step on the gas, there is a hesitation of about a second or 2 then the car moves. Is this normal?

Also when I am at a light or a stop sign, I hit the gas and I get the same thing, does all our 300c do this or is there a problem with the tranny?

How can you tell if there is a leak in the tranny?

Hard to say what the problem is, but I'd remove fuse #11 in the front power distribution center for 30 seconds and see if that improves things. After that drive with "spirit". It may just be a case of the adaptive learning these cars learn very quickly. You didn't mention your mileage or what servicing it's had.

its the mercedes designed tranny. the tranny seems to be thinking about it before it acts. I believe all the 5-speed MBZ trannies hesitate that way. I have had the same tranny in with same hesitation in:

1998 E430
2002 E55 AMG
2005 300C
2005 Magnum RT

Ok so all the 300c's do this then, not just mine?
LoL.
How can you tell if you have a tranny leak that I have heard about in these cars?

Mileage is 15,000. I have just given it the regular oil changes since I bought it when it has 7,000 miles on it.

Yep, they all do. Funny thing is, if you put your foot to the floor, the car will take off really F-ing hard when the tranny has decided to let the car take off. XD

I think delay between gear changes and the delay between starting off after sitting at a red light is different though.

Mine does this too if I want to make a quick shift from D to R or vice versa. Seems like it's a normal thing.

For what it is worth, I have noticed the delay going from reverse to drive seems to go hand-in-hand with the raising of the side mirrors after shifting to drive. No idea why, and it appears the case.

Mine also does all of the above. I hate it when I'm backing out of a parking space and people are waiting for me and my car takes 15 seconds to shift from R to D so I can get out of the way.
