2007 300C range on key

The range on mine seems to suck... my remote starter GOES FAR (like 1/4 mile) but the range on this is terrible (compared to my Scion XB which worked from a 1/4 mile in open range, and from accross A LARGE/LONG parking lot in your pocket)... seems like this cars just isn't as long... if i'm any more than 10 car lengths away and it's in my pocket it doesn't go... any ideas?

I was thinking the batteries maybe from sitting (because I bought this as an 07 in Jan of this year (08), and it was a left over from 07... but then i remembered that my scion's was more than 3 years old and still worked like it was new?? any other ideas besides replacing the battery or do you guys think that replacing the battery would help?

Thanks

I've seen my fob work from >100 ft across a parking lot... but if the battery gets a little used up the distance drops... and some have a tendancy to break a battery clip (or something like that). Have you opened it up to take a look?

i noticed my range dropped to nothing after the remote start install..

the remote start is great from 800 feet, but the door lock/unlock only when right next to the car..

This might sound weird, but hold the remote up to your chin, pointing it towards your head and then press the button. I know it doesn't fix your problem, but I have used my remotes at ridiculous ranges using this method.

I second that. I used to start my car from the balcony of my girlfriend's 27th floor apartment by doing that. Wouldn't work if you held it away from your body or pointed it in the direction of the car, but when pressed to your chin, it was amazing how far away you could get.

I'm probably growing a brain tumor as we speak from doing that!

I get about 100ft as well, except when I'm in Vegas for some reason, then I have to stick the key in the door, unlock it manually causing the alarm to go off then stick the key inside the cabin to shut it off. Now thats weird to me!

i find pointing the back end of the fob towards the car greatly extends the range.

I get up to 400ft with mine. But that is when I am on the second floor of a hanger. I hit the lock just to make sure I locked it and get the lights to flash and let me know it is for sure :-)
