Rt Lt

2007, 300C
In the hidden menus, there is a screen with LT RT at the bottom. It seems I read that it has something to do with the gas tanks.

That makes sense as I have thought about my ESP issue.
My LT RT always shows a significantly higher number for the LT than the RT except on a full tank. How I think this ties into ESP is that my left tire rarely spins but my right always does. If most of the gas is parking in the left tank then that makes sense... right?

Also, when I fill up with gas, I always have to stop 3 or 4 times and pull the nozzle out a little and slow down the flow of gas into the car.

Could there be an issue with whatever seperates the two sides of the tank?

It has nothing to do with the tires. the gas tank is a "saddle" type that straddles the drive shaft and differential. If you are having trouble "filling" the tank (or actually overfilling perhaps), you might need to check the breather tube... but how to do that I haven't a clue. It just IIRC some members have had trouble with throwing a code related to a plugged up breather tube at the fuel tank... or when they leave the gas cap off or loose... and pressure can't build.

I think me means more fuel in the left tank so more weight on the left side = more traction to the left wheel. In theory it could make a difference.

our cars have an open rear end, so of course one wheel spins more than the other..

there are not 2 tanks, but one tank like Tim says, that straddles the drive shaft and gas will shift from one side to the other, additionally both sides are not equal (9 gallons on each) the left side has a larger volume area, plus since the fill is on the left the left fills first then pours over into the right at the "hump" so the left will always have more fuel.

if you are having problems filling, it's because the fill tube is vapor locking from the gas fumes, our vehicles do not have breather tubes, they have a vapor canister, and if you ever topped off the tank, your vapor canister is probably full of liquid fuel and the charcoal is saturated preventing the vapors from escaping which is why you have problems filling the tank.

Might want to have a look at this TSB for general interest sake - http://www.wkjeeps.com/misc/LX/TSB/TSB_1400109a.pdf.

#4 Disconnect the vapor recirculation tube at the fuel tank.

that is the tube that directs to the vapor canister..

15. Disconnect the control valve to EVAP canister tube at the EVAP canister.

that is the Vapor/EVAP Canister I was talking about..
