I'll make sure if I ever run over to Phoenix to make sure you know that SRT-8 rims don't make your car any faster than the one I have on order that I'm "whining" about...
5 months to wait for a car is ridiculous...
But I'll have the satisfaction knowing that some out there wish they could have what I'll have soon and will even go as far as putting on SRT-8 rims wishing they were us the few the proud - the "SUPER HEMI'S"
You have got a great ride!
Don't slam us for voicing our opinion of how screwed it is to wait for car this long...
How long did you wait for your 300C by the way...???

Webmaster@RevItUp - Somebody's just jealous!
I think you are right on with oyur asessment...

RDMAC -
we are waiting for 300C SRT-8's, not 300C's...
Only 1,000 built so far since January...

I am picking my Magnum SRT-8 up on Sunday. The wait is nearly over and all whining will go down in history as the great anticipation to something great.

Frustration...Is there a better way?!!

Five month wait....Ouch!!....

Here's my analogy: After much research, we stand in line at a fine restaurant for over an hour, are finally seated, and order the most mouth-watering prime rib in town ..In our anticipation, we talk amongst others beside us who ordered the same thing .....Another hour goes by, and each time we see the waiter, he doesn't seem to know anything, and can't give an estimate on when it will come....in fact, stories of the kitchen running out of prime rib emerge....one minute it's coming, the next it's been delayed (again) .

But let's say other tables beside us start getting their meals.....and they express how wonderful it is, how tastey the sauce is...they even start comparing the fork it came with, the plate it's on, saving their dirty napkin, etc, etc.....'Oh boy! Oh boy!...What a wonderful meal!....Definately worth the wait!....Be patient!!'...(talk about rubbing it in ).....But here's the 'kicker' (sorry for the pun)...let's say they've only been waiting half the time we have....And the only reason they got their's before us is because their waiter is "tight" somehow with the chef, obviously more-so than our waiter....wouldn't we have a right to be upset?.....

Now if a guy orders an SRT-8 last month, well then, yes, suck it up, be patient, and wait like the rest of us.....limited production + high demand = an understandable wait.......I got mine in just under 4 months......But where the info from the dealership is crap and deceiving, and there are instances someone waiting a week gets his car before a guy waiting over five months, it's not a crime, but I certainly won't fault the other guy if he got a little miffed....

This might not be just Chrysler's fault....other car companies do the same....but why can't the "system" be first-come, first-served.....I may be new to "limited production" car buying, but can't VONs be put in order by date of deposit, and deliveries be set in that order?....I think allocation and delivery based on date of deposit would be much more fair and common sense....

Wow! Someone takes this forum talk a little too seriously.

I worked indirectly for DCX and was able to buy the SRT8 wheel and tires at a greatly reduced price. If I did not get the deal on the wheels, I would still be on the stockers. I also think they are the best looking wheels for a 300. And they do make the car go faster......... in the corners

I ordered my wife's 300C in October 04. Was told 8-10 weeks at the time. Received in 9 weeks. I could have ordered a SRT8 at the same time and probably would have been one of the first owners. But the "C" is perfect for our needs. I know some of the first 300C buyers a year ago had to wait just a long as you if not longer.

Just be patient and enjoy the car when you get it. I hope that's soon.

Unfortunately...
when you end up waiting 5 months for a car that you were told should be ready in 2-3 months...
you have disappointment of the expectations...
expectations that are not delivered upon...
and you don't really care what the excuses are...
too numerous to list at this point...
so you really lose all interest in the excitement of waiting to get that special car...
I know it is awesome and all that...
(as is yours) no one can look down on MTCOTY for 2005...
so yeah, a little touchy...
sorry, this whole thing just sucks...
this site is allowing us to vent about the wait, moral support and educate ourselves on what problems guys are having, what successes they are having, the ins and outs of their experiences...
all extremely valuable stuff...
trust me I cannot wait to get my car and disappear from this site...

Good luck to you SRT-8 folks on hold. Hope you get your cars and enjoy them and don't pay too much over sticker. Gonna have to stick with my C for now - economics just doesn't make sense to trade in at this point. If I was buying for the first time and did not already have a C for a year, well.... In the mean time I'll just have to settle for 340 HP, 390 Ft Lb Torque, under 6 second 0-60s, great tunes, and great looks. My car is also an every day driver. I know the SRT-8 will and can be, but I think of it as a specialty car.
