1st oil change

I have scanned the forums for some information on oil changes. I've read that the dealer will cover the first change. I bought my c from a dealer about 40miles away, and I assume that going there is the only way to get my free change. Any other recomendations for my first change/to synthetic mobil1? how about a local dealer or chain store (jiffy etc.) Thanks for the info guys.

I think it all depends on your dealer telling you that they would honor the first one. With my first oil change they didnt want to do it because they stopped offering the first one free. But just call and verify with your dealer.

Well, I just had my car's first oil/filter change performed this morning. At the same time, I had the oil switched to 5W20 'Mobil 1', which happens to be the only synthetic motor oil brand/viscosity that my particular 'Five Star' Chrysler dealer recommends for the 'LX platform' models. This works for me , as I was going to get the 'Mobil 1' all along anyway. Although the oil/filter change wasn't free, the car wash was.

I went to Grease Monkey for my first change, 7 quarts of Mobil1 5w20. Their normal oil change is $35, the bill for this one was $66. I am going to run it 5k miles between changes.

Yep, sixty-six bucks is the 'going rate' here as well, at both my local Goodyear Tire & Service Center, as well as at my 'Five Star' Chrysler dealer.
