Car shut off while driving

tonight they had a open track at hockenheimring and about half ways threw coming out of turn 2 with alot of wheel spin and fishtailing i heard a loud thunk and the car shut off on me. i started it back up and it wouldn't move it just reeved while in drive. so i coasted to a stop off the track and shut it down, put it in park and restarted it. it moved then and has worked great since! is there some kind of shut off or something that i tripped while beating the piss outa the car tonight?

Excessive wheel spin is verboten.

You found limp mode.....lol. If you are going to spin the tires like mad you need to make sure you don't bounce it off the tranny limiter or you will hit limp mode.
