I can't shift out of Park...

I am parked on an incline. I have a 2005 300C AWD. Good thing is I am parked on a gasoline station and it is close to home. The pink override tab next to the shifter doesn't release the lock. Anyone know how to get out of shift lock? Thanks.

Pink thing strikes yet again!!!

Do a search about the pink thing issue. You'll find what you're looking for as far as answers and solutions go.

I found the pink tab next to the shifter. You have to take out the tray in order to access the pink tab. It doesn't work. I am going to have it towed away from the incline. Maybe that should fix it.

Did more search and found a quick solution. It got me home but still have the problem. May have to replace that stupid pink plastic piece but not an easy job from what I have seen so far.

Not "may," you WILL have to replace it. Your stock pink piece is most likely broken so it will need to be replaced.

Billet technology makes a billet piece for replacement so it will never happen again.

I had a friend install mine but others have tackled this themselves and followed directions on the forums and from BT's instruction sheet and said it wasn't that bad.

Good luck.

It's not the pink tab that needs to be moved to shift it out of park. You need to take the chrome bezel off from around the shifter. There is a wire that is at the very top of it that you will need a screwdriver to slide it to the side to be able to shift it out of gear with. And then replace the part once it comes in, but the screwdriver will work, just a little "ghetto".
