Question re: TSBs

I have a question regarding TSBs- I am going into the dealer next week for an oil change and mentioned I would like the TSBs out there to be addressed-such as the spurious characters in the EVIC etc. He said he would like to know what specific complaints I had or he would not act on the TSBs that were issued- Is this true? don't they have to check the vehicle out for outstanding problems reported to Chrysler from time to time?

No they don't have to act on TSB's unless you have a complaint specific to the TSB... they must act on recalls.

You don't want them tearing stuff up unecessarily anyway, so just let them know what issues you're having and take it from there... the one that I would say is the exception is the "water in tranny" TSB, I asked my dealer to do this one as a preventive measure and they agreed, but they documented it as though I had symptoms. Sounds like you may have to complain about symptoms with your dealer... just a white lie since, in the end, you may be saving them a ton of dough and yourself a ton of headaches!
