engine dress up?

I painted my engine cover hemi orange, and installed the lick em and stick em chrome dress up kit. looked sharp for almost 2 days, wow, now the stick on chrome piece over the shroud is coming loose around the edges, i kinda thought it would give me problems, if it comes all the way loose i will glue it on with gorilla snot or goop!

hey does your guys chrome center piece cover ALL of the surface area on the old brushed silver piece, or is there still some visable from the edges? i got mine from 22elite and when i put it on the center there are still noticable gaps all around the edges...the fitment of it was too small. just curious if they are all like this or only mine?

Please post some pics of the fitment, I have not heard anything negative from anyone else about the fitment. As soon as I have the Carbon Fiber shroud next week I will install one myself for the website.

I have the same piece, it came from PFYC (before AD was selling), it doesn't fit, neither does the radiator cover. There are gaps on the sides and the front, the center cut out is not straight/square. I emailed them and asked for a refund, they refused and wanted me to talk to their supplier. I'll never buy crap from them again no matter how much less it is!

I just did the engine cover yesterday. I will say that I am disappointed with the whole project. The stainlees center piece didn't stick and I had to reset it. The letter kit can not with stand the heat of the engine compartment, so the glue gets soft and the parts move. From what I can see it doesn't matter what kit you get there's a problem. If all your going to do is paint the cover that's fine the rest of the add on's can't take the heat and are not easy to work with. I used the polished stainless center with Black Pearl letter kit. It looks incredible but I can tell you I'd be surprised if it last.

The shroud kit we sell has heat tolerant 3M tape around the entire perimeter on the back side of the pieces. I would have thought that the kit you have would be the same but have not seen one in person. The HEMI letters you have do not look like metal, they seem like a polycrylic sticker that is probably not as heat tolerant as metal. We carry the "real" stainless HEMI letters that are laser cut from the same stainless steel as the shroud cover. I have not heard any problems with the kit except for the 1/2" intended border that one customer thought should not be there. It was designed that way. Just keep an eye on them...

trim

Mine came with a thin molding that was flexible that went around the large stainless steel shroud cover. That part is sticking ok, but the 2 sided tape is already giving up around the edge of the stainless shroud cover, did not even make it 1 week. I may drill 4 holes in it and use metal screws and chrome snap covers that will work and i won't need the 2 sided tape anyway!
