New Horsepower ratings will the 300C's drop

Looking at an Acura TL fourm the Acura TL went from 270 hp down to 258 hp and 238ft-lbs torque to 233 ft-lbs torque using the New SAE revised J1349 calculations which measures HP/torque ratings the Acura TL lost 12 hp and 5 torque using the new rating . Does Chrysler use the new rating and if not will the HP/rating for the Hemi go down similiar to what the 2006 Acura TL from the 2005 Acura TL's. It has caused soem debate over Acura Owners.

If you read through the posts from this link it is pretty intresting and may affect HP/Torque numbers across the board for all companies if they are not already using the new SAE calculations for HP/Torque

It actually made the forthcoming Corvette Z06's rating go UP. So who knows. It's just a stricter test, IIRC. Meaning, an independent third party certifies the H.P. ratings of the manufacturer using the SAE testing guidelines. If the HP numbers drop, then someone at the manufacturer had a few tricks up their sleeve. Seems GM was underrated and Honda had overrated. Tsk Tsk.

Imports over rate their engines. Hyundai and Volkswagen I believe got into trouble for overrating the Tiburon and TDI more than they really were. It's sad they have to lie to keep up with Detroit.

Regadless, it doesn't matter what the measurements are, so long as manufacturers aren't forced to actually change the output of their engines.

The new calculations could cause them to say 20HP, but it's the same exact engine as when it was rated at 270HP, what's really the difference besides bragging rights.

I'm thinking positive with horsepower increases to 400 for the regular HEMI and 475 for the SRT-8
