Saw Strange 300C's On A Truck

I was on I80 south of Detroit and saw a truck full of new 300Cs with a single exhaust and different wheels. Where the other exhaust pipe would emerge from the bumper the cut-out had a painted insert. I believe they said HEMI. They definately were labeled "Cs". Where these export models??

Odd... perhaps they are planning to scale back the awesomeness of the 300C like they did with the 7/70 warranty... Afterall, they're already making a killing, why allow the consumer to continue benefitting so much? That is strange though, and if you're sure they were labeled with a "C", then that raises a bunch of questions.

With Dodge Magnum wheels? Then it's an Export. In Europe all 300 are 300C labelled.

Saw the same thing at the Grossen-Linden Chrysler dealer here in Germany, I thought that the Europe Spec models were built on this continent?

From DC web:

International operations in Austria include the production of Jeep Grand Cherokees and the production of Chrysler Voyagers under an assembly contract with Magna Steyr Fahrzeugtechnik AG & Co KG. In 2005, production in Austria will expand to include the 300C models.

Just curious why they would take Euro spec cars to Detroit area and on trucks? Are these demos? I think it would be more convenient to ship exports by rail to East coast instead taking them to Detroit first. I also do not recall seeing any export versions on 401. I drive there everyday and see lots of westbound trucks loaded with 300s, Magnums and Chargers.

Ah, another Firesign Theatre fan. Sadly, the name doesn't come from Firesign, but a children's mystery book series I grew up reading. Firesign is good stuff, though.

That is a nice looking car regardless of the engine size! Those wheels look interesting though.
