Lets try to avoid bashing past generations of our car. Its bad form. Without previous incarnations we wouldn't be here.

Screw that, Rouge. That may be true for say something like the Mustang, Corvette and even say the original 300 and the 300C. But definately not the 300M and 300C. There is no comparision.

I had never even THOUGHT about getting a Chrysler ever because of their ****ing ugly ass designs. The 300M just screams ugly. The only American company I even thought about getting was GM.

I think the more appropriate thing to say is "Without Brian Gilles we wouldn't be here"

Here's a pic of my ugly 300M Special (in my ugly back yard)

Generally when I see other forums bashing another car it is out of envy, jealousy, or simple arrogance. Arrogant are we? Without the 300m bringing back the 300 Model Designation, you wouldn't be driving that 300c.

The last 300 model before the M was the 1965 300L:

Respect your elders. Regardless of what you feel about the design of the 300M, its contribution to the industry is a big reason your 300c exists today in your driveway. I can see beauty in nearly every car ever created. I am truly a car nut. Perhaps I'm unique in that way. Yes. Even the AMC Gremlin.

Yeah, what's that 300L doin' in MY backyard? Finders Keepers.

DC learned a lot from the 300M and their "attempt" to upgrade performance with the 300M Special.

Of course the LX is a completely new platform. The previous platform was a good one, as FWD goes. One of the reasons Mercedes merged with(acquired?) Chrysler was their state-of-the-art computer design, research and development center in Detroit. Truly one of the best in the world.

It was evolutionary. The result is the car we love.

I'm obviously one of the minority of our club members who don't feel like that thread reads. I love both cars and would have liked to see cohabitation, but it can't happen. As the club's leader for the last two years and a likely 2005 board of director member, I can't force the issue and risk tearing apart a great club we have. It's therefore a dead issue for us.

I brought this up to take away the great organization we have and the approach we took as an example of one possible way to develop and form Club300. I look forward each day to view the forums here and to see how Club300 develops. I'll probably join in the near future, right now I busy with 300m club day-to-day issues. I never meant to stir up a model differences issue.

Hi Robert,

I just skimmed your 300M Club site. Very nice. Too bad that there are so many detractors each way on this issue. I had 2 300M's and enjoyed them both. Now, I'm helping Thom a bit with Club 300. The M Club has been very successful and I'm going to look closely at it as a good model to follow.

You have been very generous and honest with your information and opinions. Who knows? Maybe the future will bring all the 300 owners, past and present, together.
