ALLLRIGHTY Grip Guys....

Here's the deal...I have a 2008 300 SRT8 on the way shiping from Canada on the 23rd of OCTOBER. I want to change the grille (of course). I have searched a while to see whats out there, and after all the lookin and searchin I have decided GRIP is the way i wanna go.

There is one huge but...BUT I need to know if it will work on my (soon to be)car. Oh sure, it'll fit but there is one problem....

This is a message i got from another member...

Shoeboy, be careful with your grille decision since your car should have the "adaptive" cruise control. This system utilizes a sensor located behind the grille to tell how close you are to other vehicles when you are using the cruise control. I was told by my dealer that many of the aftermarket grilles would block the sensor and cause the adaptive feature to not be able to function. Just check it out before you make a purchase of a new grille. Perhaps you can move the sensor or something.

What do you know about this? Is the Grip grille gonna work? I sure would hate to find out the hard way.

here's a link that will take you to a post of another member...it tells a little more about the adaptive cruise control.

I love the grilles and REALLY want one, but i need a bit more info.

I look forward to a response.

I don't know for sure about the sensor. I know on our car we have used cruise.....but never paid any attention to the "adaptive" feature, as I tend to actually drive, and not try to let the car do so for me.

It will fit the car perfectly without question. Perhaps someone else might now a bit more on if that feature works properly with our grille!!

Wow, I'm saying I want to give you business, and it sounds as though you are calling me lazy. I could be wrong though, perhaps i am misinterpreting your message.

It's my understanding that the cruise won't work at all if the sensor is blocked. Truth be told i can't recall the last time i used Cruise...BUT ya neva eva know. I'll prolly pull the trigger anyway...and figure it out.

The Grip grill probably blocks less then the stock grill since it doesn't have the vertical bars. So, from that perspective, it should be just fine. However, if you add the wire mesh behind the grill, then it puts it into the same category as any other mesh aftermarket grill and would probably block the sensors.

I have had the grip for months, and never ever had an issue with cruise... and I dont think they were calling you lazy... Altho I would certainly be shocked if you let a car slow down for you instead of keeping a sensor to save you from hitting a car in front of you.

Just for clarification - ShoeBoy is worried about the "adaptive" cruise system that is on the 2008 models, not the normal cruise control the rest of us already have.

In any case, if you are using cruise control, and cant keep ur car from rear ending another car, I am not sure that feature will be helpful.. LOL He must have some other issues. I am simply saying its not something that would keep me from buying a Grip

I don't know a thing about this feature but I'd wait until I got the car and see if the sensor is something that could be relocated slightly in case it gets blocked.

WOW, of course i could keep a car from running into the back of another car...HOWEVER, it would be nice to USE the function...i mean why slow it down if it will do it for me? NOT TO MENTION...i read that if the sensor is blocked CRUISE CONTROL will not work at all...Adaptive or otherwise.
