Hello to all, It's been 8 mos since my Cleeper SRT8 has arrived and stored in it's new home. Been reading your post's, trying to make a decission on Supercharging, with all the triming's.Local gear head's have wondered why I haven't had my "Mafia Staff Car", ready yet, I'm known in my circle of speed freak's as " PHYSCO DAD ", just a little Over The Hill " lol...1943 and still rocken!
Anyway, the GS Team, ( have It done, or do it myself ), comments please! are their shop's in the Windy as good as Scott's Team???
As I would Like at least 600 hp to the ground! Possiable???!!!
I read that the Heart of the 6.1 will strok out in 6 to 8 month's!after the supercharging!!
Comment's Please, The Faster I get to the Hang Out the Better!!! lol
Thanks for all great Reading guy's.

Jim

Here's the deal.

GSM is and has been the pioneer when it comes to mods for our cars. With a brand new product, there are sometimes bugs to work out. GSM was the first to provide us with supercharger kits. Some of the early kits, with the boost turned up too high, did suffer catostrophic failures. While some guys (like Ron, 1Bad4Dr) were honest and admitted that they tried to tune the car themselves and add more boost then, boom. Others denied trying to add more boost or messing with the tune, and blamed GSM.

Over 99% of the supercharger kits are on the road and kicking ass. The thing to do is talk to Scott at GSM and discuss how much you care about longevity vs max power output. We all would love to boost it within an inch of it's life and have it last forever, that's not realistic. You can add boost and put down serious hp, and have longevity. The key is to add a "Reasonable" amount of boost, and tune the car to run fast, but not make the tune too radical. That way you can have a beast that will last.

While some of us, myself included, have had numerous first hand experiences with Scott & GSM and know them to be real "Car Guys" and have had lots of great experiences with them, there are others who put them down every chance they get. It could be jealousy, or ignorance, or boredom, I don't know.

With some really new products, you may wish to wait and let us Guinea Pigs work out te kinks before you order mods from overseas. Typically, early buyers (Meister, CButler, 1Bad4Dr, myself...) find and help GSM work out any bugs, and in short order the revised products are tried and true.

Good Luck with modding your SRT!

Feel Free to PM me if you have any other questions or concerns.
