Thumbs up GSM SRT 1/2 Shafts Complete RTR "TONE RINGS INCLUDED"

GSM SRT 1/2 Shafts Complete RTR

We are proud to announce a ready to run ½ shaft replacement.

We have done extensive road testing on several of the fastest lx’s in the nation resulting in new low et’s because of the ability to launch hard without the fear of breaking the half shafts and we now have a production run in stock ready to ship

Our kits feature a viper half shaft, New LX hubs that have been enlarged to accept the bigger spline and a 300 m hardened stub shaft.

One key feature is our shafts come complete with the ABS Tone Rings so you can simply install the shafts with no modification needed

GSM 600hp ½ shaft kit , ready to run $1995.00

GSM 1000hp ½ shaft kit (CV’s are upgraded to 300m material) $2495.00

We have 11 sets that are in stock now

I just became aware of your company in the past week or so. I think it is great how you are investing in R&D to develop the SRT product offering. I called today and talked to your sales manager, and I must say that I was ecstatic to see that you have finally sourced the ABS rings that Chrysler does not offer without buying a complete half shaft. I was then thoroughly dissappointed to find out that you would not sell these rings unless your halfshafts were bought as well. I appreciate R&D, but you have a product that could benefit many folks that HAD to buy a shaft prior to learning of yours. Rather, you decide it is worth alienating potential customers to maintain exclusivity of the part unless they buy your shaft.

Of course it is well within your right to package your products however you see fit. I think your marketing technique has some significant risk, in that it certainly appears you put your interests well before that of potential customers.

In my case, I learned of your company, saw several products that were of interest, had a definite need for a pair ABS rings, and was told in no uncertain terms that you would never sell them separately from your shafts.

I spend a great deal of money on my car, and thoroughly enjoy doing so. Unforunately for both of us, I would have a hard time spendiing it with your company.

I would be willing to bet that someone else will source these rings in the near future or I will get them salvaged. The frustration that your policy has built up in me will almost certainly last far beyond my need for your ABS rings. I bet it will for others as well.

Regards,

Detour

Weird...

I think the guys at GSM are awesome, easy to work with and even when I was not buying something Ryan is willing to talk about my SRT...

I think you guys get a bad wrap sometimes and this was probably not needed from this complete 300C forum Newbie. Chrysler wont sell the part he wants, and now he flames you for not selling it too? I am confused.

Sorry you had to have this meaningless post on this topic back to the half shafts tho, hope I get some HP increase soon with heads and cam then I will need the shafts!

Thank for the kind welcome H4M, there were no flames here, just a chance to have a discussion about my concerns with a GS policy regarding their rings.

On the tone rings we have just enough for the shafts that we are offering, so we cant offer them because it would leave us short for our own product.

I did see the original posting for the incomplete shafts and I did not want to offer ours till we had a complete unit....even if it ment we a bit late on getting them out.

Thank you for replying, I really do appreciate it. If you have a source for manufacturing those rings, I would think that you could order additional sets of rings. If you are sourcing them from a salvage yard or something similar, then I understand. But what would keep you from ordering 50 sets of shafts, and 75-100 or even a thousand rings? I'm sure you could market them very effectively and have a profitable product with what could be minimal outlay?

Thank you again,

Detour

Tone rings are hard to source. Why would anyone want to sell something that is only needed on aftermarket replacement halfshafts. If another Company does not have the resourses to buy or mfg tone rings, why would another company want to supply rings so someone can buy another companies halfshafts and use GSM tone rings.
Simple fact is if you want a ready to bolt in hafshafts, you need to buy the GSM's. If you want to use someone else's halfshafts, you will probably need to use the tone rings off your stock halfshafts, rendering the stock ones useless.

The point of my post was to say that taking the short term approach of, "I have a piece that you can't get anywhere else so I am going to combine it with another really expensive piece." Does not go over well with me. Perhaps you were fortunate enough to not need shafts, or maybe you were able to wait until GS put theirs out with the rings, I don't know or really care. What I do know is that eventually someone else will source these, and GS may experience some repercussions for their decisions to only sell the inexpensive piece that could give some people their ABS brakes, traction and cruise control back.

Right now, it is more important to them to bundle it and make the bigger buck. I understand that. My whole point is that folks like me will probably remember this marketing decision and the impact it had on us long after those inexpensive rings are available anywhere.

I sourced a set this afternoon.

Using your analogy, you should hope to never lose a set of car keys. Chrysler might decide that you need to buy a whole new vehicle if you want new keys. (Ridiculous, I know, but that is my point.)

Gheeze bro', really? GSM comes on here to update an awesome product they have to offer. One that no doubt has cost them a lot of time and money to produce. One that a lot of us need and have been needing for a while.

If you have a difficult time with they way they have packaged it, I can see you asking. But when you don't get the answer you are looking for it's bull chit for you to rake them over the coals. At least take it to private mail.

Very nice product GSM. I'm very interested.

Moose.

For those of you who have given props to GSM thank you. We are trying are best to make GSM all it can be. So with that being said, Detour why not PM me some we can try and work something out. Why don't you go back to the vendor you purchased your shafts from? Is it because they don't have them or they won't help you? I'm curious to know. You have made this same statement on several other forums too. Is this a personal agenda to bash us or what?

Thanks,
Jay
