Yuck... I'm 3 miles from the epicenter of that one and had $70k in damage to my home, not including my '35, which was literally so buried in the garage that we finally just pulled it out and let stuff fall around it. We were without power for 3 days and slept in the bed of the pickup truck for fear of going inside. It was very surreal, but I used to teach a Disaster Preparedness course to hospitals so I felt better prepared than many and, although I hate to think about that time, it was a valuable lesson and it was inspiring to see neighbors helping neighbors.
