Group Buy: 5.7L High Flow Catalytic Converters only at HHP

Group Buy: 5.7L S/S High Flow Catalytic Converter Systems only at HHP

That's right! Starting this week we will be starting our group buy for the direct bolt High Flow cats for all of the 5.7L Magnums, Chargers and 300C's. We have 50 sets scheduled to be made but we can easily up that number to 100. The test car will be in this Thursday and once the design is completed we expect to have these replacement cats out the door as early as the end of June.

These systems are direct bolt systems and will work with either the stock exhaust manifolds or any of the shorty header systems. These systems will be produced exclusively for HHP by a leading exhaust manufacturer and will use Magnaflow's high flow cats (similar to what is currently used on the 6.1L's). Because of this we don't anticipate any CEL's from this set up. I'm still finalizing all of the final details with our exhaust manufacturer and it won't be until after the test car is in that we can finalize a few more of the major details. Here's what I can tell you so far:

Stainless Steel, 2.5" Mandrel Bent Pipes
Magnaflow High Flow Converters
All bungs for easy direct bolt-on installation.

We're expecting around 8 +/- 2 rwhp from these converters and we're pushing to keep the cost around $399.00 for the group buy. There may or may not be an associated shipping cost but even if there is it won't be much. Because this is a joint venture between two of the major exhaust companies (unheard of, I know) the price of the systems ends up being a few dollars more (in the end around $25.00 per set if you compare them to the 6.1L system that is strictly made by Magnaflow) but you'll be getting a great return on your investment and you'll still be getting a great deal overall, guaranteed.

CARB legal?

We knew you'd be asking this. We expect them to be. The Magnaflow catalytic converters are CARB legal. We're just waiting on word back from "the legal departments" on whether or not this will suffice the requirements needed to call these pipes, themselves, CARB Legal. We should know by next week.

Group Buy Info:

I've recruited everyone's favorite Master Of Ceremonies, RandomAccess, once again to help me out with this group buy since this is an extremely busy month for us here at HHP with our planned move coming up next month. We're getting ready to move into a considerably larger location where we'll be able to serve you guys far better with several more customer service reps, much Much larger inventories with a showroom and we'll even offer small scale installation, too. Enough about that, though.

Due to the expected size of this group buy RandomAccess will be compiling a list of group buy participants - similar to how we ran our Superchips group buy that sold over 220 programmers before we had to end it due to it becoming too large. In order to keep everything as simple as possible all we ask is that you pm RA with your name and email address. When we have the pipes approximately one and a half weeks from being ready to ship we will email the promotion code to everyone that has registered with RA (preferably) or me and all you will have to do is go to our webstore where we will have the converters listed and you can just purchase your set right then and there at the Group Buy price. By registering with RA there is no obligation to purchase but it helps us to make sure that we put enough systems through the initial production cycle in order to make sure there's enough for everyone.

As we receive more information we will be passing it along.

Thanks!
Joshua, HHP

Thanks for pushing the vendors to put these together Josh! I'm excited about this MOD

These are the same cats used in the SRT8 setup that produced almost 400RWHP...

Test Fitting went exceptionally well I'm told. They did the test fit on 06HEMI's 300C and I'm told that the tech's were exceptionally pleased with how everything will fit and are very confident that these catted pipes are going to really free up a good bit of power. I should have a photo sent over shortly from the manufacturer.

They are going to try to do a dyno run with the JBA shorties on there so they'll have a fully JBA exhaust plot.

Also, it looks like we will only be able to get a run of 50 initially. If there are more interested in the GB, then it'll be another 4-5 weeks or so before the next 50 will be produced...

I can tell you that the slots are more than 1/2 gone already, so if you are interested don't hesitate and PM me your name and email to get in on the deal!

Some details from Josh at HHP:
Quote:
We will have a photo really soon. We were sent the photo of the kit but then asked not to post the photo just as a precaution. Soon, though, we'll have one for you guys to drool over.
We have seen pics of the initial part that was put together during the test fit. Looks really good. 3" off the collector into the cat and 2.5" back. Looks very much like the SRT-8 kit. I received word on Tuesday that they expect to have the first production run of 50 done very soon. We should have the first couple of sets ready in around two weeks to go into testing on 06HEMI's 300C and I expect MattRobertson's RT that is in severe need of a cat ASAP. (Matt probably doesn't know this yet) 06HEMI is going to have the shorty headers installed, too, and we'll get dyno numbers of his car before both are installed and after both and hopefully Matt will be able to get us some decent results with just the high flow cats.
You SoCal boys doing the testing does make me a little nervous I must admit since you guys seem to get a lot of numbers that appear lower than they should but I have faith in you guys.
Just messing with you SoCal's. We're still standing behind our claims of around 8 horsepower. We'll have our own dyno results done out here by our local speed shop, ACA Performance, too, probably by the end of the month. We just had ACA finish up their first GSM Supercharger on a 5.7L Magnum and everyone was just blown away by the awesome job they did with the installation and it's tuning. Cleanest install I've seen yet. It all looked like it should have come from the factory. Going with a safe tune so that this Magnum could be run daily with nothing to worry about longterm the output from the engine when hot was 373 rwhp and around 410 on torque. Driving it? What a monster. She just threw you back and took off like a rocket. I'm sure you guys will be hearing a lot more about ACA since we're going to be doing a lot of work with them.
Back to the cats. Besides 06HEMI's kit and Matts (assuming he will be doing the test) that will leave 48 slots left in the first production run. We will email out the first 48 people on the GB list as soon as we're about 1 week from shipping and give you guys a few days to get your orders in. I'm expecting the initial sales period to be from June 22 through June 26. After this period the remainder of the first 50 sets will be opened up to the rest of the guys on the list. Getting on the GB list now guarantees you one of the first 50 systems and it could be a little while before we can get more made because of the availability of the cats is going to be an issue.
As soon as I get more updates on the cats I'll let you guys know.
Joshua, HHP
Don't forget to PM me if you are interested... The first 50 are 60% gone!

Someone in the other forums asked about installation... so thought I would post it in here too in case someone has the same question...it's two bolts, and one clamp on each side. All in the open and accessable from the under side of the car. All of our cars are 3 years old or less, so I wouldn't even worry about "frozen" bolts like you might on an older exhaust.
