The resonators are just an open shaped chamber, repsolroger. There's very little if any sound deadening material in them.

I've noticed lately that sometimes when I come to a stop and the MDS doesn't kick off (mainly because I roll through it), that when I go to accelerate with a light foot the drone gets REALLY loud until the MDS turns back off.

I find myself using the auto stick frequently with the muffler delete. Which isn't a bad thing really.

Most of the drone is low rpm. There's an area between like 1400 and 1700 where it'll buzz, but a simple tap of the gas or tapping the shifter down from D to 4 takes care of it.

I would imagine with a predator or trinity turning the MDS off you wouldn't have any drone, ever.

I have a 2012 chysler 300s with the 5.7L. I was thinking of taking out the stock mufflers and replace them with Borla S mufflers and leave everything else as is. Does anyone see any problems with this or have any insight on how it might turn out?

Thanks Mike

Just a little update here.

For some reason when my car hits a certain RPM, the engine gets ULTRA loud and sounds like it's revving really high, but the RPM's are normal.

It's very, very weird...and it ONLY does it when the MDS is on.

If I tap the gas peddle to turn it off or tap it into auto stick it goes away instantly.

Kind of freaking me out.

Get a diablosport tuner and turn that useless mds crap off. And buy a cat back system you won't be disappointed performance and sound. I prefer the slp loudmouth 2. Quiet under normal driving but really sounds good under WOT

Yes, the exhaust will get a bit louder and the tone may sound different to you as well.

I think I might just cut out the suitcase a.k.a muffler. Seems to be the way I see people go. I don't want any drone

That ^^^ will be a bit worse than removing the resonators. But give it a try and see how you like it. Then you can always weld in some mufflers.
