I agree - the quality and fit of the centre arm rest is terrific. See mine and my door arm rest. I didn't fit the other three because they hide the wood.
I tried not to pull the centre cover tightly down on the sponge pad in the hope that it would be nice and soft for my elbow. It is, but my elbow is very close to the front corner because the steering wheel is too far away. My UK 5.7 does not have reach adjustment.

22 Elite Console cover/padding?

Just curious as to whether anyone who has done this upgrade is going with the option to add padding. If so do you like the look?

See my post #91 below (/above). I have the sponge padding. I can't understand anyone not padding it.

Padding

Go with the double padding. I got my '05 300C last month, and after owning only Cadillacs for 28 years, i got into the chrysler and immediately thought "what utter cheap garbage" for the armrest. i am used to thickly padded leather rests for a nice comfortable drive. It is too bad chrysler picked this most noticable area to cut corners. Get the thick padding and match the color to your console, not seats. the look and feel is awsome.

Which wood kit did you go with, i like the finish.

Armrest padding

Thanks for the response guys. I have to agree with Joe from N.Y.
My last 5 cars were Cadillacs and I noticed how uncomfortable the armrest was on the test drive. I'm glad I found the posts on the 22 Elite piece!

I just recieve the console cover from 22elite, i have removed the console lid from the car.

And here is the problem:
There is no screws on the underside of the lid.
Do 2008 model have different lid??

Please help!

Yes, 2008 is a different lid (I thought they already had leather, not enough padding but leather none the less), we have one here that we can use to R/D the cover, you are the first 2008 that has ordered one... Feel free to send yours back and I'll get you the 2008 pattern out...
