Don't Waste Your Money

I bought two of these leather center armrest covers (one for each car) from 22elite: they are NOT worth the money.

While the stitching is good, the leather grain does not match the other leather surfaces inside the car, and once installed the cover stays rippled. It seems the latch creates a stress, and the impossibility to tighten the leather around the sides of the armrest are the culprits.

The vendor also offers foam for "added" padding. Don't bother with this. For an additional $5 you get a large piece of foam without any obvious shape for mounting (you get neither instructions nor diagrams). Worse, you will find it totally impossible to mount the leather cover with the padding unless you are an experienced upholsterer. You may even risk tearing the cover seams in the process.

$165 later, now I have a rippled leather armrest, two large pieces of foam, and another leather cover still in its bag. I will have to take all this to a upholsterer for a professional fit and look --for additional cost, of course.

sorry dude. I asked James about doing the self install and he sent me instructions on how to do it. After reading it I decided it was beyond my skill level so I had James do it. Thing came out perfect, no ripples no nothing, the stitching lines up everything is centered. The leather matches the rest of the car as well. James is a great guy to deal with and takes a lot of pride in his work. If you have a problem with it I would suggest you contact him, he'll work until you are happy.

WOW... this is the first I've heard of this. We offer professional installation ($35) as well as a "core" program where we can send out a completed unit and you send yours back for a refund of a deposit. There are self installation instructions posted on the same page you purchased them from where you can see how the foam is installed (it is glued down and trimmed). You can access them here Installation Instructions

We have sold over a thousand of these w/o any comments like yours. Please give us an opportunity to make things right prior to slamming a perfectly good product. I want to make you happy, if possible. I'd encourage you to send your lid to us for a professional install, I know you will be happy. Let me know what we can do...

Love it

James, I've had my cover for a while now and absolutly love it. I installed myself in about 30 minutes and had no problems. Get kudos from all who see it.
Please give James a chance to make things right. This is the first complaint from 22elite that I've ever heard of.

If this is not standing by your product, and wanting to ensure the customer
is satisfied with a product, I don't know what is.

I wish every vendor I get items from, like the ones I get my Jeep parts
from, was like this. I would have had alot less headaches in the past.

Good for you James standing up, and wanting to make it right.

You don't get better customer service than this.

Jim

Thanks again James for a great product in a very timely manner.

Sorry your disappointment in this product since everybody else seems to rave about it. The value for the price is phenomenal. It seems like your major problem is installation, which you chose to do yourself. Why not send it in to 22elite and have them do it right. As for the matching of the leather grain, I can't comment since I selected dark slate to contrast with my light greystone leather seats. All the pictures that members have been posted of the console covers have looked great.

Talking New console cover from 22elite.com

Just got my dark slate core exchange console cover from Jim 3 days ago and installed it in less than 5 minutes. Looks beautiful and feels great! Everyone that owns a 300C should consider this interior upgrade. Highly recommended.
