Removing shift panel surrounds

How does one remove the panel(s) that surround the shifter indicator plate?

The plastic panels that surrounds the indicator and that slot? Reason is that I put wood kit on it, but now I want to remove it so I can mask the wood off and paint the silver parts still showing flat black.

If you have the Service Manual, it is on page 6,644.
The removal is described under Interior > Console-Floor > Removal

I would post a pic, but my Service Manual is on my other computer which is busted at the moment.

The little Tray that's infront of the shifter is part of that panel. It's a rubber insert. Lift it out and under it are to Phillips heads take them out and the whole panel pops out. The tray to the right is also removeable.
