Factory Wood Trim

Is there any other way to get the California Walnut Wood Trim for the interior other than going through the dealer? My local dealer wants $600-700 for the set to swap out the plasticy stock stuff. Should have just bought one with the trim in it but they had such weird option combinations at our local dealership. Anyone else thought about this?

Eric

Don’t they sell dash kits on line with this trim? There are many members that have purchased dash kits of various kinds. I would think California Walnut would be available. Did you try a forum search for dash kits?

Sorry I wasn't clear enough, I want the actual steering wheel, shifter and door handle tirm where it comes from the factory on the car - in place of the tortise shell stuff or whatever they call it...for starters anyway.

It sounds as though EricG is speaking specifically of the wood trim items (steering wheel, gear selector, door pulls) that come from the factory when one orders the California Walnut interior trim package, a $400 option when ordering on a new car, 'danno.

I've not seen that offered anywhere but at the dealer, but eBay would be the place to look. Search "California Walnut 300C" and see what you get. Worst case shop other dealers, though I can understand why the price would be higher now than when ordering the car.

Then, as srt8danno was suggesting, you can get an aftermarket kit to further expand the California Walnut look throughout your interior (though most of these kits are plastic).

Chasb has a nicely done interior in this medium.

Sorry about that. I think Northern Rider also has a nicely done kit as well.

I looked into this myself actually.... the steering wheel alone is over $1000... plus around $140 for EACH door pull plus the shift knob was $200ish I think.... lot more than the $600 factory option... ouch!! I'd say ebay or a salvage yard.

Yowsa - maybe I should take my dealer up on the offer. He said he's just charging me his cost for this.

With the cost to you in writing beforehand, assuming you're happy with the price, go for it.

Sounds like the dealer is going out of his way to facilitate here.

Get the total beforehand and offer to "trade in" you existing parts for an additional credit if he's game.
