Interior dash lights. Can they be changed?

I was wondering if anyone has changed the greenish interior lighting in there car. I hate that green color and I would like to change it to the red (like Audi) or orange (like BMW). Is this possible?

I would love to do this also. I have done some calling around and haven't had any real luck yet. My dealer just said not but another dealer said that didn't know but for $250 they would pull the dash apart and have a look.

I have spoken to another guy that does instument clusters and he said he hadn't seen a 300c cluster yet but if I pulled it out and sent it to him he would have a look.

If DC used electroluminescent panels (like those "lime" nightlights), it's going to be expensive to find replacements as they're likely custom-sized panels soldered in place.

You are correct. The thin all one piece illuminated panels are cut to fit the entire gauge cluster. When the cluster is in 2 pieces. There is a power clip to unattach the cluster lighting. This mod is better left alone.

To the other member going to pay $250 to send in the cluster and have someone take it apart for you. Don't bother, I already took mine apart.

So I guess it can't be done...too bad I really would of liked to change the color of the interior lighting.

It's just a matter of changing the voltage/frequency no? The only thing is you would only be able to have green or blue and shades in between. Same concept with those aftermarket glow gauges that change color.

Does anyone else know if this is true, and if so could you elaborate?

I'm going by assumption here. I'm assuming the connector connected to that electroluminescent panel leads to a transformer. Changing that piece out or adding additional components to adjust the voltage/frequency will do it.
Freebird, did you follow that wire?

So has anyone done this, and if so is there an easy explanation (walkthrough) on it. Thanks in advance.
