Question Anyone installed front grab handles?

I was thinking about installing what my passangers call an "Oh ****!" handles. Honestly, I don't think I drive that fast!

Has anybody done this? What handle (car make/model/year) did you use or think would look good?

I don't want to just buy a pair of rear handles and install them in the front, I don't think that would look too good, not to mention that wiring the lights would be way over my head.

I just want a simple grab handle that color matches the interior. Any supporting vendors, can you make these?

Thanks

Do you have the protection group side impact air bags? If not, then there shouldn't be a problem installing some grab handles. The front side impact bags are located where the handle would normally go. But even if you have the side air bags, it still may be possible to install some handles. I have not seen anyone do it on this forum.

That is the number one complaint I hear constantly from some of my buds that ride with me…..where the hell is the “Oh Schitzky” handle. I just explain about the side air bags. In the mean time they’ll just have wear super glue pants to stay in place while I drive.

Totally agree. The missing grab/assist handles is a big oversight. It was the first thing my wife noticed when we went for our first test drive.
There are rear grab handles over the air bags. You would think the engineering brains at Chrysler could have figured out a way to put handles in the front. Probably another cost cutting idea, like the missing map holder on the back of the passenger seat, and no locking gas door. These should all be standard on a car over $30k.

The bean counters said no, no, no……….You’re so right though! Even I found myself reaching for the darned things when I let a bud of mine drive my beast. Inconvenient as hell especially when they’ve got them in the rear. I guess I could just have everyone ride in the back.

that is so funny.......i was actually think about the same thing about the missing map holder. just one of those things that you are just so used to having in a vehicle. ..........wife said the same thing about the handles.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks installing grab handles makes sense. So, does anyone have another DCX vehicle that has a standard grab handle (strap style) that we can use?
