Replacing OEM Carpet w/ OEM Carpet?

Hello, I have a really bad stain from the previous owner on the driver side foot rest area, in which three professionals have tried to remove but couldn't. I called my dealership and was told the vehicle has four separate pieces. The front driver side, front passenger side, rear, and foot rest (Guessing it is just the rubber foot rest that would go over the carpet). I was quoted $226 for the driver side front carpet and $21 for the foot rest. Has anyone replaced the carpet in their 300C? If so, how easy/difficult was it? What tools are needed? How long of a job? Is this a do-it-yourself project or should I leave it up to the pros?

Your thoughts?

Thanks!

I would imagine it shouldn't be that hard....Just remove the seat and center console. Depends on how handy you are with tools.

if you do it yourself, just be carefull if you move the passenger seat. the seat has sensors under it for the passenger airbag. these have to be bolted in a certain manner with a certain torque (i don't know it off hand).

Remove the ground from your battery. So that you won't have any issues with discharging the airbag or anything electrical etc.

You also need to conect a static discharge ground to your body when un clipping the wires for the pass seat, otherwise static charge in your body is enough to discharge the bags.

Also go to a reputable trim shop near your dealer. The dealer will not replace it he will have the trim shop do it. This way you will avoid the dealer markup. My dad owns a shop I see it all the time.

I called a few places and no one wants to do it. They said it really wouldn't be that difficult, but they said to leave it up to the dealership. I was quoted 1.5 hours labor to do it.
