Always remember (Lefty = Loosey) (Righty = tighty) first of all.

Push in on your parking brake and set it. Then turn your key until you can put shifter in N.

Get a firm grip on the top of the shifter. Turn counter-clock wise (Lefty). You will have to put some force behind it. Keep twisting on it until you hear the thread locker seal break. Then the shifter should start to loosen with each twist.

It was not hard for me, but I am 6'4" 260 lb.

Are you in VA?? If so I will help you with it. I think you may be afraid you are going to break something dont worry the only crack you will is what freebird said the seal of the threadlocker. I was a little scared at first also but then just gave it a good go and bam it came loose.

Try using one of those rubber and plastic strap wrenches. Should give you the extra torque needed to break the seal

On the lock-tite, use the one that isn't permanent. It'll hold the threads, but you can still remove it if you choose. The other lock-tite is more permanent and could result in a very difficult to remove shifter.
