Well I got a new shift knob for the 300!!! I finally found one that just said "300" all I could find was SRT or 300C or something along them lines. This is a billet shifter its actually billet its damn heavy!! I thought it would be plastic chrome and then billet on the top where its engraved with the 300 but the whole damn shifter is I love it!!! Well here are the pics!!!

Just unscrew it! Turn counterclockwise to unscrew and vise versa

yeah you wont break anything just crank it counter clockwise! Mine was tough at first but once I broke the intial seal it unscrewed easily! Just have to turn it hard. You will not break anything.

Luke. Nice Shifter. You are the proud owner of a DeerRam shift knob. He is a member on the LXForums. He makes these. He also list's them on E-bay as well.

These are not cheap shift knobs by any means. Solid piece that is machined down. Then engraved on the top, with many choices.

Here is a thread I started about his and others shift knobs for LX's.

http://www.300cforums.com/forums/int...ht=shift+knobs

I have one in Freebird with 300C on the top.

DCX uses a thread locker when they install the shifter, at the factory. That is why it is hard to break the seal. Just keep turning the shift knob until it breaks loose.

If you go to install a different kind of shifter or decide to go back to the OEM shift knob.

Go to the hardware store. In the glue section near the super glue. Loctite is a Co. that makes many types of glues. Look for the red or blue (it will say it on the package) thread locker.

When you go to install a shift knob. Make sure you clean off the old thread locker from the threads on the shift shaft. I always wrap a small towel around the base of the shift shaft, just in case of drips from the thread locker. Then shake the small tube of thread locker. Gently squeeze a few drops of thread locker on the threads of the shaft. About halfway up the threads. Then thread the shifter onto the shaft and tighten down until it is good and snug. If you have a shift knob that needs to read straight, but with it snug, it is off center. Slowly turn back the shifter until the letters read straight.

The thread locker will harden and set in 24 hours. Don't worry, you can still drive the car. Just don't use auto stick and try to keep your hand off the shift knob. When the 24 hours is up, the thread locker has cured and you now have a firmly installed shift knob.

If you want to remove that knob and go back to OEM shift knob. Simply twist on the shift knob unitl you hear the thread locker seal break, then twist the rest of the way off. Repeat above steps.
