Need help w/ interior power supply

Is there a switchable 12 volt power supply on the driver side kicker panel? I want to be able to tap into it instead of making run to the fuse box. I read all the posts about hardwiring the radar detectors to the rearview mirror, but I need something closer to the floorboard. Thanks.

Funny I just saw this post because I have the exact same question and just came on to post it. I'm trying to hardwire radar detector and looking how to do that without running to fuse box under the hood or in the trunk!

I think your best bet would be to run it from the cig lighter. That is what I did when I ran my LED lights under the dash. It works great.

I believe that one of the accessory outlets (cig lighter), either the one one on the dash or in the arm rest, is switched with ign. on. I think they tell you in the owners manual, I know I saw it mentioned somewhere.
Good luck !

the one in the arm rest. I found this cool thing at walmart, that plugs into it. Its like a clear skull head at the end. When u plug it in it lights up blue. So i put it in the armrest so i can have light when i open it, but its always on when the car is not locked. only way it turns off is when u park the car and lock the doors.

i used to run my V1 to the outlet in the center console armrest (now i use the invisicord). that is an "always on" outlet in my model (now i use it to charge my phone/iPod). the cig lighter outlet is switched to ignition.
