Angry Help me please TVand nav2go troubleshooting

Hi all,
I am installing doms hardware and am having a bit of a problem. No ones at the shop today, so I am hoping I can get someforum help.
I followed the install instructions provided by Dom and jhelmuth.
I have cut, soldered connected and reconnected the nav 3 times. I only once had a small solder touching issue but caught it. MY problem is:

I can hear the radio. I cannot see anything on screen and my buttons for
"AM/FM" , "MODE", "NAV" and "MUTE arent responding.

Has anyone had this problem or can they point me in the direction I should be looking on my nav board.

thanks for any and all help

Oh and yes I have twisted both the blue and white wires together Coming from the TV&NAV2 GO box), and the green and white wires together and still nothing.
I am opening it for the 4th time now.

The 12v power supply I am using for the unit is from the IPAC audio 12v provided.

if your radio buttons aren't working it sounds like you may have cut a trace that you weren't supposed to.

all the buttons should work whether the mod is active or not. On mine I can run the sound from the CD player and still see the picture from my DVD.

you may want to post up pictures so we can see exactly what you did, makes troubleshooting a whole lot easier.

Since you say you were talking with JHelmuth, I can assume you've read this thread:

http://www.300cforums.com/forums/tec...-nav-unit.html

With that being said, I would start PM'ing some of these people for their help also.

Good luck!

Thanks for the heads up guys I will post some pics. Unfortunately I think the traces were cute too deep on the LCD side (brown and grey wire). I didn't realize how deep I was because I kept getting an ohms reading.
I am pretty sure it can be fixed, with a little patience and some soldering.

VV90 - I didn't speak to jhelmuth personally, but i did go over his very well done tutorial. Unfortunately I didn't realize how deep I had gone with the 2 "test pad" cuts.

I called and asked Dom to take a look at it personally this morning and am just waiting to hear form him, on what he thinks. Nice guy and very helpfull.

Update - As I mentioned b4 I cut a little too deep into the board and crapped it out. But Dom & vinny at TVandNav2Go took care of me and I am back and running. They are very friendly and were very willing to answer all my questions and concerns.
Furthermore, I had a small blip of a problem with the nav's joystick after I got it from Dom and they fixed it today no problems. Their reputation is well deserved and I highly recommend them. I will definetly go back for any future mods that may be beyond my limited expertise. Thx again all.

Glad it all worked out in the end. I haven't done business w/ Dom, but I hear he's a standup guy. Thanks for the update.
