led dome light problem "strange"

I noticed the other night getting out of my fiance's grand cherokee that her rear map lights were dimmly lit. They are the same exact map lights as whats in our cars. you open the door and they're bright as can be you shut it and they almost go out but are still lit.I thought it may be something wrong with the truck so I put a regular 194 bulb back in and out it went with no problems. put the led back in and the same problem. my car did it once but that was the only time. I cant figure it out guys. help!!!!!!!

HUM interesting... I started a thread awhile ago to ask about LED and such problems but was meet with resistance and the idea that LED's did not have this kind of problem (being a newbie at the time I was probably just over -Looked based on my # of posts)

But now I have read more and more comments on dimmly lit LED's once the cars lights should be out. Autolumination.com claims that their LED's should be completely out before starting the car, and on other forums people have questioned spikes in current during start-up that may play havic with LED's (cheap or otherwise).

Anyone else having this problem or have a cure?

Maybe those cautionary comments on a vendor's site ACTUALLY have some merit to them???

ive had this issue before and afaik its because the LED have a resistor on their circuit it holds a small amount of power, and as we know led's need very minimal power to run hence the appearance of a permanent soft glow....

if the glow bugs you change the globes back to incandescent ones
