Whats goin on with dash kits?

OK so the time has finally come for me to get my dashkit. From what ive heard NYCdashes.com has sort of 'disappeared'? I want the 72 piece kit like NYCdash had (OEM match) for my C and dont want to spend much over $400. from what i know edash.com is the next best choice? can anyone point me in the direction to find the best 72 piece OEM match kit?

If your car came with the wood option (steering wheel & shift knob), than get the OEM. If your car came with the standard tortoise shell, then buy the walnut burl wood (SWBW) for a huge decrease in price. I purchased samples beforehand and found the walnut to match the tortoise shell the best, but only in the synthetic and not the real wood. I couldn't tell the difference between synthetic and real wood. The samples looked impressive and I can't wait to install (I received an e-mail and tracking # today, telling me it's coming tomorrow).

This company and NYC dashes are related in some shape or form as my samples were pasted on a NYC dashes paper.

I've waited over 6 months to buy my dash kit and I just purchased a console cover from 22Elite. I very recently installed my Nav radio I bought off ebay and will have my lower mesh inserts from Turbohips installed next week during my dealer oil change.

Needless to say, it's going to be a fantastic summer!

How about the best place to buy the Satin Nickel to match the center cover? I really liked the pics that slk320 posted.

I got mine from wood dash experts. Here is a link to my pix if you'd like to see some of it installed...

Florida 300s (see post #46)

btw... the dash kit color is Newport Burlwood. Contrary to other opinions, I find this color to work the best with the tortise shell.

Interesting. I ordered many samples but not the rosewood burl because it looked too dark. I thought the honey burl would be the closest match, until I held it next to the tortoise trim. The walnut burl matched real close when I did the same.

So what is your opinion of the dash kit? Does it look as nice as the pics? Any tips for installing?

How did you like Turbomgmt detail products as I'm about to order? Thanks for your help.

The pix never seem to do it justice, but suffice to say that it looks much better than the pix. Installation went fine. Just take your time and follow all directions (the most important of which was "dry" fitting each peice before applying, followed by "heating" the piece and applying to a clean and properly prepared surface)

Turbo's detail products are excellent and a great value. Same advice here - follow directions and don't rush the process.

PS - Not sure about your reference to "Rosewood" color. The Newport worked better for me as I have the darker Grey interior. Lighter color interiors will probably work better with the Walnut Burlwood color (as mentioned by others). I do not think Rosewood is an excellent choice - but to each their own.

Crap...I don't see the OEM option for a C to match to my optional Walnut interior.

Are you referring to:

http://www.wooddashexperts.com/~wood...cat=360&page=1

??

This is supposed to be a super close match to the California Walnut option?

Thanks!

I am also looking for one with the overhead console pieces.

There's more to choose from too. You will pay more for the OEM match.

Hey, now we are talking!!

Thanks!

I was looking in the wrong place (molded)...

this is what I had in mind, but not using all the pieces which is a bit overkill for me...

Sounds like you are marketing this for them. I will tell you that they don't have the best price at all. You can get the same exact kit from an eBay seller for less. How do I know this? Because i bought a Sherwood kit for my 300 and I regret it. I wish I would have bought the kit from NY Dash.

Just my .02

FYI: I bought the kit plus the door upgrade. I paid $265 for it. The company you are promoting is $300. Thats a big diffrence.

These kits are the only OEM Approved by Chrysler themselves. I don't know about you but I'd prefer a kit that Chrysler approves for my 300.

Anyways here's their site

www.lgtautomotive.com

Here are some pics off their site as well: Pic1 Pic2 Pic3 Pic4 Pic5

They also have an upgrade kit which includes the doors, overhead & shifter.

Take care and hope it helps,
