Well my guess is that its using a stronger RFID system to detect the key in the pocket, once the system confirms the key is present it will allow the "button" to start the car. The button should not be all that big of a deal, it would just be a momentary switch like on your computer.

They trick would be making the system chekcing the key is powerfull enough to see the key 2 feet away from the ignition switch.

My wants are much simpler. Just a big red Viper Start button, inscrbed to say "Ludicrous". I'm shifting to Ludicrous, noooooooooooo.

also wnated to add in russia we have very good tuners they could iven do a remote control to your navi and they did that on series 7 i would chek that with them for u but when i asked them about a mercedes key which is the laser one they told me the could install it but they didnt suggest me to because if there will be any mistake in computer engine could get blocked while driving and i guess i dont need to explain u the afretmaths of that even on 100 km/h
