Piping The Seats?

I want to pipe the seats with a Cool Vanilla color but I don't know how hard it is to do. I'm bringing it to a place near my house but I'm a little nervous it's gonna turn out bad. Does anyone know how it's done and if it's a tough job? What's the price range? Any pictures? I'm going there today to get a price, I'll post it when I get back. Thanks

The piping is sown in when the seat covers are put together . I would say they would have to remove the stitching on the seams to add piping. If you are talking about what I think you are , I did work for a coustom seat cover maker back in the late 50ts.

I went to the shop, they quoted me $1000 just for the piping installed. Is that too much?

Well considering you can get an entire Katzkin replacement kit for less from us it may. We manufacture kits as well and it would almost be impossible for them to install piping unless they shortened the seams which would result in an improper fit. The seams on the C are double stitched and if they did not trim the seams you would see the stitch holes or have the stitching and cord (which would not look that great IMO). If you have any other questions please PM me.

anthony.....im considering the same thing myself. i know a guy whos in the upholstry business and after examining my interior he said that just adding piping to the existing seats would be sort of tough, and he couldnt guarentee a perfect fit/install. im still not sure if i want to go with the 2 tone interior, but i might just hafta if this piping really grows on me. definatly would look classy tho. i loved the piping in my old range rover and wish the C's had it.

james- do you have any pics of light graystone interiors on a C with black inserts and black piping? i think once i saw it would convince me a little more.

anthony-check your PM's also bud
