Exclamation two different seat belt buckles?

My 2005 300C has two different seat belt buckles (the part on the belt, not the part on the seat/floor).

They both work the same and the plastic part is the same color, but they are two completely different styles?

Do I have a Magnum belt on one side and 300 belt on the other? (or touring/C different belts?).

Would some of you check your belts and see if yours match?

It probably isn't worth having changed, and might even make mine more valuable (right) because it is "unique".

I wish I had bought and saved a 1978 Dodge Monaco that got delivered to a dealership I was working at in 1978. It had Dodge badges on the left side and Chrysler badges on the right. Inside it had Plymouth stuff on one side and Chrysler on the other! That is right, parts of four different versions of the same car all on one car. VIN said Dodge. Quality control was really bad back then.

My 300 is much better, but I can't believe that two different styles of belt buckles is standard!

Weird.
Send in some photos so that we can document your "two-fisted" 300.
Then, we'll call Ralph Nader.

I assume this is the front seat, My driver's buckle is different from the other four in the car. Odd. I hate the way you don't get the locking belts on the rear for child seats, I guess with the latch it is not necessary. NE1 know if we have front seat pre tensioners, I know they are not on the rear.

Yes, it is the two front belt buckles. The one on the drivers side is smooth and the one on the passenger side has some grooves in the plastic part that look decorative, not functional. Can't see any reason for the two styles. I will need to look to see if the rear buckles match one or the other of the front ones.

Not a big deal, but being a Virgo and liking things in balance, I just noticed the difference and wondered if I had an oddball car. Won't make me love it any less, might make me appreciate that the Germans haven't attained perfection yet!

My driver's side buckle is different from the rest as well.. I assume it was designed that way for driver's comfort... I didn't think it was a fluke.

OK, Here is the latest episode in "wierd belt buckles".

Front driver is smooth with rounded edges and curves in the plastic.

Front passenger plastic area is squared off edges with a slight bend to the sides, grooves in the sides and a rounded bump on one flat surface.

Rear passengers are similar to front passenger but no grooves on sides and no bump on one flat surface.

OK, I think I have exhausted my ability to obsess over this minor issue.

It seems I don't have an odd duck, just some wierd German idea of how to make Americans go crazy.

Just look at the part of the seat belt that is on the webbing, not the part on the seat. The metal tab has plastic that is molded around it to make it bigger, easier to grab and less likely to cut into you when in an accident.

This plastic part is in three "styles" on my 300C.

Look at your own 300 and you will see what I mean. Nothing functional, just looks.

Doesn't seem worth the time to take pictures, load them to the computer and then to the site.
