Sweated like crazy b/c I wanted to keep it warm inside. Installing these things are a WHORE! If anyone is going to do this in the future, I highly recommend taking off the radio/HVAC bezel off and painting it flat-black so the silver won't show through ('cept the clock area) since these wood kits are NOT perfectly fitting.
Not my 1st choice of a wood (I wanted the black burl or black walnut), but that's what the wife wanted to bring life to an otherwise dull interior.
I purposely left off the big swath of dash trim (under the dash instrument cluster, above the glovebox area) as I think it would be way too overdone as it already is.

teahead... you defintely put a LOT of work into that. Nice job, but it wouldn't be my first choice for a wood treatment either... way too light IMO. I'm sure that you're wife will appreciate all the effort and care that you put in there!
How do you like the rear VES? This is the first I've seen of what the front of the console looks like with the screen down. Wouldn't mind seeing a bit more detail of that (not meaning to hijack your thread or anything). We're getting the rear VES in the coming H.E. 300C. I'm hoping there will be a console kit for it (some soft for the right elbow) by the time it gets here.

In love with my first wife & first car ('68 Charger) ... still have the wife
but now there's the Heritage Edition and a Magnum SRT8!
Wow! That certainly adds some brightness to the drab interior! Is it as bright as the pictures suggest? Or, is it reflecting a lot light off the flash?
Excellent install, I concur.

You are a patient man. That install looks like a pain in the arse. I didn't think I would like the wood look on an SRT-8,but seeing is believing....It looks great!! Kinda breaks up our boring interior. Pedals look good also. Didn't you just get this thing? You must have been saving up all your energy.

Ya know, haven't even tried the VES yet.

Yeah, the car's been a PITA since I got it.
Door handle replacement: PITA!
Door moulding removal (fingers hurt for days!): PITA!
Klasse SG removal: PITA!
Zoops Seal on the new wheels: PITA!
Wood dash kit in a hot sweaty car: PITA!
Only been two weeks since we got her, but the mod power had its grip on me early.
And yes, it is even BRIGHTER when the sun shines in there! Very 3-D. It's growing on me, but I'm a fan of complete black interiors for that matter.

Hey TH. Nice install job. You are moving like a man on a mission. My kind of modder. If you ain't sweating, you ain't modding, lol. If your fingers are not hurting, if you don't have new cuts/gashes on your hands and you aren't dirty, than you are not modding, lol. There is pain before there is beauty.
OK, now tell me how much of a PITA that really was. Do you have to heat the glue backing? Is that why you had it so hot in the car? How hard was preping the oem material for the kit install? Etc, etc.

Prepping? Not hard at all, but they don't give you enough alcohol swabs and primer/catalysts. You can get the alcohol swabs from any drug store, but I don't know where to get primer catalysts. I'd call whomever shop you get the dash kit from and ask for extra.
Having a HOT interior helps a lot. Because you WILL mess up and have to take it off where it sticks if you need to re-arrange it. Do NOT press down ANYWHERE until the stuff is completely aligned correctly.
Anywhere you have one piece surround another, do the innter piece FIRST, then the outer piece.
No, I didn't heat the trim 1st with a hair dryer b/c I let them sit in the car while it was sunny (even w/20% tint, it still was a greenhouse in there) for a bit. Having them laid out on the dash helps.
