Halo's... Should I install them myself or buy them complete??

So I most definitely want the demon eyes for my 300. However cannot decide on whether or not I want to install them myself or if it would be better to just buy them outright. A couple things go into play on this. First is that I cannot have down time so I would most definityly have to buy a second set of headlights to perform this procedure on ($200). Then I would need to buy the halos of course ($200) and then paint the housings ($25) and in the process do all of the assembly work etc. etc. all while risking messing something up. Mind you I do tend to do things myself however this could be a costly mistake. On the other hand for about $200 more I could have a set put together for me direct from AAC with halo's installed and housing painted with no worries. What do you guys think?

Sounds logical, and well planned, you could sell your lights to try and make up some of the difference.

If you're looking for red flashtechusa.com has them on sale. Another source is aac auto lights. A bit more expensive but a few more options.

Its not too bad many members have done this. Save yourself the time and trouble of trying to sell the lights and finding the new ones and so forth. There is a great write up in the diy section I plan on using when I finish the other 15 projects I have going. The hardest thing is making sure you have the correct amount of time to perform this mod properly.

Re: Halo's... Should I install them myself or buy them complete??

I think time is one of the biggest issues. I'm confident I could do this but I don't think I've got the time to take them apart, paint, install and then reinstall the light assembly. Days off don't come by very often and even when I have them I do a lot of running.

Well, if ya don't have the time then the answer is easy...buy a set of headlight with the halos installed adn the buckets painted how you like them. You have HID's, right? If so, then paint the buckets. If they are halogen and you intend for them to say halogen, then don't paint the buckets.

I just ordered two sets of HID's from ddm tuning. I am currently halogen with projector though (300C halogen headlights). I do think I am just going to order them though. I'll try to sell the OEM headlights for a reasonable price. Lol best of both worlds. Next question though... Should I get them with factory matched paint or flat black? She's BB by the way.

Hold the presses!!! I'm about to give you a couple more of my pennies...

DO IT YOURSELF. Seriously, it's not hard. I wish I would have known you were looking to do this. I was just up in Cleveland at the IX Center working this past weekend and I met up with another 3CF member (kball) to help him with his halo install. (Which BTW - kball, how about posting some pics!?!?) We should have made a halo party out of it and you could have joined.

I'd be happy to help you if you are ever in Columbus. Or, I'll be back up in Cleveland again in a couple weeks to work the Cleveland Auto Show at the IX Center. But either way, do it yourself. Don't pay someone to do it, and don't waste money on extra lights. And hell, my halos cost about $50 total, and aside from some paint, that was about all of the cost. I did it all in one evening. Same with kball this past weekend - I was there for about 6 hours and everything was done and installed except for paint, which he knocked out after I left. So really it's just one down night for your car.

So come on man - buckle up and let's knock these halos out!
