sidemarkers - bulb and tint

Hey everyone. I Just picked up a 2007 300, and I absolutely love it! I would have loved to pick up the C, but this is a daily driver, and I'm going great distances everyday to work. From the metro detroit area here in MI. Have been scoping out the forum for last couple days, and also waiting to get validated haha.

Anyways, everyone here has shared alot of info, and are well informed. Looks like a great community. Just have a couple questions.

The front sidemarkers, are the bulbs amber, or the housing?
Are we able to replace the bulb with a blue lighting one?

I already read about using window tint on the tailights, so I'm going to knock that one out, but what about using it on the sidemarkers? I picked up some 2.5% window tint to do the sidemarkers, and taillights, which I have done before on a different vehicle. I am a little concerned about the little coppers around here finding that a problem. My question still stands for the sidemakers, could the bulb be replaced with blue, and would it be not a bad idea to tint them, instead of painting?

I have purchased new headlights with blacked out housing, HID conversion kit with 8000k, 22" black, with chromed out lip rims, window tints are getting done 2mrrow, and I'm just being picky about the grill. Money just poured out, so grill has to wait another week or so. Looking forward to hearing something.

Thanks.

EDIT: My 300 is black.. Not sure the correct term, but its flake looking black. Metalic or crystal black, not sure?

Welcome to the forums, 300hundo! Congratulations on your brand new purchase. I believe your 2007 paint color is called Brilliant Black Crystal Pearl.

I don't know if anyone has used a blue bulb for their sidemarker. Many members here have switched to the clear side markers and inserted a Stealth bulb that is chrome in color when off and amber when in use.

Tinting of covers and brake lights have both been done with tint but most often paint. Lots has been posted on this forum on how to DIY. Some people pay to have professionals do the work.

It appears that you are well on your way with the upcoming mods. I believe you will find lots of helpful posts on how to do them. Try using the 'search' feature to see what others have done or how they have done the mods.

Living in the heart of the Big 3, you should not have any problem finding shops for guidance or ideas as well.

Good luck on everything. Hopefully, some other members will post some suggestions for you as well.

Thanks for the info Bruno. Couldn't get the tint to work on the side markers. Not a surprise. I'm going to just wait it out couple more weeks and get the black housing sidemarkers. I was hoping it was just the bulb that was amber and not the casing.

Stealth Auto, your sidemarkers look sick, but I'm trying to keep a murdered out theme for my 300. Alot of black, but nice accents of little chrome. I'll check you guys out.. Looking for some black housed sidemarkers.

EDIT: I did forget to mention.. not sure if you caught it.. Tried tint on the sidemarkers, wasn't coming out right. I am going for the black housed sidemarkers, and will blue bulb that. Thats in a couple weeks.. Money is real short now.
