I've heard back and forth on the headlight bulb issue. Some say its legal, some say its illegal. I've driven by coppers several times now, with them behind, in front, and from the side looking dead on, and have not had a problem yet. Issue's like this as well are different in every state. I based my choice on knowing that the coppers around my area don't bother you with small things like that. I have numerous friends with same bulbs, darker tints, etc etc and have not had problems.

If you live in an area where coppers are anal about everything, then don't get them. 7k are real nice. I would go 7k if your iffy, but still want the blue. If I based my decisions on whether something is illegal, I would not have my tints, HID's at 8k, blue parking, reverse, license plate bulbs, tinted license plate cover, license frame, rosary and eye hanging from my rear view mirror. All of which are possible tickets. Its you, and only your choice. Good luck bro.

i dont understand the point of getting HID kits that are 6000K or 8000K IMO
on ebay you can get HID Xeon filled bulbs up to 8500K are the same quality as HID kits but you run the risk of burning up your wiring so choose your vendor wisely. I personally like the look of 12000K a nice bmw purple HID. has anyone seen the 30,000K?!?!? its insane! basically looks like a blacklight

So you are saying just to get ' Bulbs ' instead? You probably would run the risk of burning your wires with bulbs only, right? I did think about purchasing bulbs (about $30-50) to see the quality of light and save money, but these are not true HID.

they are HID quality, you cant distiguish the difference between those and real HID's. I have 8,500K BULBS in my car and in my silverado i have 8000K HID's you cant tell the difference. Money isnt an issue its just common sense. if you wanna go 8000K+ then yeah switch to HID's

Dude what are you talking about?

Saying you can't tell the difference between those CHEAP wannabe HID overheating bulbs on Ebay vs any real HID kit is insane.

I can ALWAYS tell when a vehicle has HID or hid wannabe bulbs. The HID kits look awesome and the "colored bulbs" look well........

Sorry but i 100% disagree...and theres no good reason to risk burning up ur wiring for come colored 100w bulbs.......

okay i respect your opinion but you are on HID pro because you own them. I on the other hand own both, and ive compared them side by side and you cant tell the difference. HID systems with true HID bulbs are xenon filled. The 9006 bulbs are xenon filled too. The only true difference is that the true HID bulbs last longer and the Xenon filled bullbs usually burn out after 3 years. I mean we can go back and forth till the cows come home, but its just from my own personal experience.

Im gonna have to agree with fire medic. The difference is major. I think your just talking about the color of the light which maybe true BUT the major difference is in the actual light output. HID's light up 3x more road than regular halogen headlamps. Put your cheap ebay bulbs in a car and then have another car with an HID kit park them next to each other in a dark area and you will see the difference my friend. Just bc ebay bulbs can produce the same color does not mean it can produce the same light out put.

The only way the bulbs can produce even half as much output is by raising the wattage of the bulbs to 80 or even 100 which will fry your wires and cause an even bigger headace. While HID's actually use only 35 watts. Also yes the bulbs are cheaper but they only last maybe 4/5 months and HID's will last 3 yrs. So your just better off getting an HID kit. Ebays cheapest HID kit is about $120 thats better than buying 6 sets of xenon bulbs. Oh and by the way dont believe those pics on ebay they are either photoshoped or are actual pics of HID's not the cheap bulbs they are selling. They almost never look like the pics.

I got pulled over before for yellow headlights (not in my 300) and then continued to ask him what was legal he said anything blue or white. But its also a toss up whether or not the cop is an Ahole or not. So in texas blue and white is ok i guess.
