High beams turning on with turn signals?

After I "flash" my high beams (i.e., pull the light stalk towards me) I discovered that whenever I use my turn signals the high beams come on automatically and stay on until I "flash" the lights again. (And the highbeam indicator light remains on after I turn off the car even though the lights are off...)

I asked the dealer about this and they said it was "normal" (but this doesn't seem right to me). My car has the HID lights, with daytime running, smartbeam, etc. (and this happens if the light switch is set to automatic, turned off, or manually on).

Anyone else experiencing this "feature"?

That can't possibly be "normal" - how can they say that?!

Try pushing the stalk forward to actually turn on the high beams, then pull it back to turn them off. Does it still bring the high beams on after that with the turn signal?

No way the high beam indicator should stay on when the lights are "off."

NOT normal!

The highbeams work normally when pushed away from me (this activates the smartbeam system which works great and the highbeams turn off when meeting or following cars). I only get the weird high beam with turn signal feature if the light switch is activated in the opposite direction (i.e., pulling towards me).

It happens everytime and is 100% reproducible so it's not like it's some kind of electrical glitch. I don't consider it normal so that's why I was wondering if other people see the same thing.

Welcome to the forums, scopro! Congratulations on your 2007 300c in Nova Scotia. Like GoofyTim, I also have not heard of this issue with any LX vehicle. But, that doesn't mean it's not happening to you or someone else.

Try another dealer in your area if that's possible because this is NOT normal. Good luck!
